Although we have so much work to do on the boat, life goes on.
Today we took the girls to a swimming gala. Last year it was a total disaster with Ayla chickening out at the last moment and Savannah jumping in but pulling out because of the cold water. They could choose if they wanted to do it. Ayla did and Savannah did not . It was Ayla's belief last time that there was no magic floating stuff in the water so she would drown. She has now discovered that she can swim in any pool, even if it doesn't have any special floating magic. Savannah did not want to do it but she wanted to swim beforehand. Kyle was not keen on the whole scenario as he was having flashbacks of two screaming kids from the previous time.
Ayla gave a big enthusiastic jump , doggie paddled all the way , came third (last) and was very proud of herself, as were we. Savannah decided to only do froggie style (breast-stroke) and opted to jump in rather than dive. She won !!!! And by about 4 metres too. Tammy and Wendy then pleaded with her to do the backstroke. She as not too happy about this, but I stayed with her at the start. What a surprise, she also won, also by a few metres. She is very talented and we are very proud parents. She said it was the best day of her life.
